Is It Okay to Go Against the Law?

This is a question that plagues most of the people who consider installing the radar detector accessory on their car, because many countries have indeed banned the use of radar detectors out of the belief that the devices encourage people to ignore speed laws. However, many people drive fast and still maintain the basic techniques required for safe driving, while others can drive slow and still get into bad accidents.

They argue that the radar detector accessory can still maintain driving with responsibility – only that they can also speed whenever they want. The freedom to drive as you want is a great feeling. However, it is indeed extremely dangerous to the driver and those who are around the driver if there is an accident. On the other hand, if you can maintain a balance between fun driving at times and responsible driving when necessary, then the radar detector accessory to your car is a wonderful addition. Otherwise, it could be an invitation to sure death or worse, a lifetime as a vegetable in a hospital.

The records show that car accidents are responsible for more deaths than all the wars put together. The accidents are mostly due to two main reasons – first, drunk driving, and second, speeding. This is why most of the countries have very strict laws about both of these violations and why they have banned the use of any type of radar detector accessory. However, in the United States detectors are legal everywhere except Virginia and Washington D.C.

Nonetheless, there is another side to the coin. There are cars that do not feel good unless they are driven at high speeds – who wants to drive a Porsche at 30 miles per hour? There are vehicles that you can enjoy only at high speeds, although perhaps that should be reserved for the racetrack and not the neighborhood. Then what? Why should you spend a small fortune (sometimes not so small) on a grand car that you cannot take for a high-speed spin? Using this logic many people equip their vehicles with radar detector accessory - so they can drive their imported car the way they want to. This is a good perspective as long as it does not interfere with your safety or that of anyone else.
