GPS Radar Detector
A Useful Tool
The GPS radar detector is the newest advance in radar technology for personal use. Along with all of the features you would expect in a regular radar detector, the GPS radar detector integrates new technology into a small, compact, extremely useful device.
Two technologies, both of which are very useful, have been integrated into a new system. Some are calling it a revolutionary technology, but since they are calling it revolutionary, you can probably assume it will end up costing more. However, if you have the extra money and are on the road a lot, a GPS radar detector may be a great new high-tech toy for your car.
What is a GPS Radar Detector System?
GPS stands for global positioning system. Global positioning systems were originally used to help people find their way through the wilderness or anywhere around the world. It works by coordinating the position of where you currently are with information about the region that is downloaded from satellites and updated regularly. This allows you to see on the global positioning system exactly where you are, what roads are near you, what the terrain looks like, and other useful features.
With GPS being integrated with radar detector technology, it makes the GPS radar detector a much better watchdog. The GPS radar detector can look everywhere in your vicinity, and the radar detector part of the unit can watch for any monitoring of the highways by those who may wish to ticket you for speeding.
Radar detectors are legal in all states except for Virginia and Washington D.C. Those two areas have laws against GPS radar detectors, and you will at the very least receive a ticket for having one. In other areas, a GPS radar detector is legal, and can be very useful, especially if they are a higher end technology. The newer technologies have become better and better about detecting other radar signals.
If you are on the roads and highways for work or travel quite a bit, a GPS radar detector may end up saving you some money in the long run. You can still get to your destination more quickly while being aware of where a radar may be positioned to clock your speed. The only negative that can be found with this new technology is probably the price. Since it is pretty high tech, it will end up costing you more than a regular radar detector, but, if it prevents you from receiving speeding tickets, it may end up paying for itself!
